Hawke’s Bay is proud to boast more than 200km of cycle trails meandering around and between the twin cities of Napier and Hastings. The Hawke’s Bay Trails are mostly flat, a river and coastal network of pathways stretching over the Heretaunga Plains.
There are three distinct cycling experiences: the Experienced Rider, Cycle & Explore and the Wineries Ride.

Experianced Ride
The Experienced Rider has the opportunity to cycle varied terrain and enjoy impressive picturesque scenery of close by farming country areas that also include vineyards , cropping and orchards – these chosen loops have limited amount of vehicle traffic. Note: no designated pathways… Tuki Tuki Valley, Ohiti Valley and the Bay View Loop. Take care and enjoy the countryside!
Cycle & Explore Ride
Cycle and Explore rides are flat, easy and perfect for families. Providing panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and includes the Ahuriri Estuary, a sanctuary for endangered wetland wildlife, Awatoto River pathway loop, Clive iWay, Hastings and Havelock North as well as exploring Hastings Icons & Wineries which include Oak Avenue, Rush Munroe Ice Cream, hanging baskets etc.
Wineries Ride
The Wineries Ride is a relaxed ride that covers the regions famous wine-growing areas from Napier to Kidnappers Coast to Havelock North and Bridge Pa/ Gimblett Gravels/ Ngatarawa Triangle wineries. Numerous award-winning wineries that afford plenty of places to stop enjoy the wine and food. Also included in these rides is Ale and Cider.
