Napier – Hawkes Bay is blessed with 200 kms plus of cycle pathways.  It is  awesome that you  want to go biking a great way to explore our city and/or surrounding areas, all rides are on  flat terrain, suggested itinerary times depends on the amount of socializing you do. Costs include collection and drop off from a place that suits you best! Return transport includes collection on route at place that is accessible by mini bus.  Please be aware your cost: Wine tasting, activity fees and lunch.

I am unable to collect you or your party from the ship side due to tight security measures to keep the Port of Napier safe. I suggest you catch the shuttle bus into Napier getting off at the second stop which is the

 National Aquarium of New Zealand – Te Whare Tangaroa O Aotearoa 

As you face the building from the road, look out for me in the large car park on your left… I have a white mini bus with bikes attached to the back or I will be towing a large bike trailer All aboard the mini bus and I will take you close by a start point for your days cycling adventure – when you are ready to return – I require ¾ hour  notice.

Note: The last shuttle bus is usually an hour before your ships scheduled departure time from port.

Trail 505: Puketapu Loop

90% of this Cycle trail is on/off road pathways.
20km – Three to four hours. 
Standard bike $65 per person.  Electric Bike $110 per person

Connect mind body and soul and enjoy nature’s peaceful surroundings as you cycle the scenic Springfield Riverbank Pathway take a detour to Moana Park Winery on-way to Puketapu Village, you have the option of enjoying lunch at the Puketapu Hotel a very popular spot to met up with the locals or Ice cream at the local dairy. You may wish to visit to meander around the historic Puketapu Church or try out the flying fox. To complete the loop Cycle the Omarunui River Bank Pathway – several gates to open. On return beside the bridge venture up the hill to enjoy the views overlooking the river and beyond and learn the history from the signage board about the historic Otatara Maori Pa Site. To cross the bridge use the area designated area for cyclists and walkers – it’s on your left and make your way to Silky Oak Chocolates & Café Afternoon collection at a place that suits you best .

Trail 512: Coastal & iWay Pathways – Inland Napier Loop

Flat terrain  90% on-road & off road pathways.
32km – Three to four hours
Standard Bike  $65 per person.  Electric Bike $110

Lots to discover as you wind your way through the ever-changing landscape of Napier City
From the National Aquarium cycle the Coastal Pathway then turn inland and enjoy the new iWay Pathways that take you through Marewa and Tamatea Suburbs onto Park Island to enjoy the view from the cemetery. Visit Mission & Church Road Winery – you can be collected from here if you wish! Or backtrack and join the pathways beside the Poraiti inland foothills passing by farmlands to the Wetlands where you will find wildlife a plenty, cycle via Westshore, Ahuriri to down town Napier, then along the Coastal Pathway beside the Marine Parade back to the National Aquarium. Afternoon collection that suits you best or met at the National Aquarium

Trail 613: Gimblett Gravels & Bridge Pa Triangle Wineries

90%+ Pathways. Drop off & collection.

13kms – Five hours.

This wine growing area covers 800ha, 90% of the land is planted in red grape varieties the other 10% white grape varieties. Handcrafted wines produced from 11 plus wineries in this area have won a multitude of Gold Medals & trophies. It is a wine lover’s paradise that is full of surprises, a wide range of wine varieties for you to discover in your glass – that showcase the regions potential and growth. Trail 716: Kidnappers Coast

Standard Bike $95pp or Electric Bike $135pp.

90% of this Cycle trail is on/off road pathways. Collection at a place that suits your best.
28km – three to five hours
8kms: Drop off at Black Bridge
14km: Drop off at Clive
17kms: Drop of at Awatoto beside the sea
28kms: Cycle from the National Aquarium.

This peaceful country ride is predominantly on pathways beside the sea and three river pathways, very scenic and ideal for families. From Clive Village to Black Bridge then to Haumoana village, explore Beach House Wines, Elephant Hill Winery, Clearview Winery, Te Awanga Estate. Cycle through the Te Awanga Village, at road end you will find Wool World and Hygge Café beside the sea. Other options: British Car Museum, Hawkes Bay Farmyard Zoo, numerous Art & Craft studios in this area. Afternoon collection.

Trail 719: Havelock North & Kidnappers Coast Wineries

90% Pathways, 10% Road Ways. Drop off & collection.

20km – four to five hours.

You have options as to where you wish to be dropped off… Arataki Honey Visitor Centre, Black Barn Vineyard, Te Mata Estate and the Origin Earth Cheese Makers, River Road Riverbank pathway to Black Bridge, join the Kidnappers Coast pathway and enjoy the spectacular coastal views as you cycle the pathway through the village of Haumoana then to Beach House Wines, Elephant Hill Winery, Clearview Winery and Te Awanga Estate explore village of Te Awanga where you will find numerous Art & Craft Studios, meander down the pathway to the road end.

We have held the bike hire costs again this year with a small increase in transport costs, we haven’t included credit card fees in our prices as we don’t want those paying by online banking in advance or cash on the day to incur this additional cost. We ask if paying by Credit Card: an additional 3% surcharge to cover bank charges – Thank you!- We accept Visa & MasterCard. .

Most wineries charge tasting fees I put the cost on the last pages of each pdf’s . Opening days and hours may vary.
