An awesome day cycling this popular trail which is  90% off-road,  up to 8 wineries to visit. Soak up the ever-changing scenery - including river bank and seaside pathways, passing through 2 coastal villages. Note: The cycle pathway to Craggy Range Winery is elevated; the remaining cycle pathway is predominately flat terrain

The Havelock North wineries have a long heritage of quality wines and have been rewarded with their dedication via a string of accolades over the years. Your choice whether it's a picnic lunch under the trees or a fine dining experience of the very best quality.

Note: You will be well rewarded with the views of the Tuki Tuki River and outlying areas cycling the new pathway to Craggy Range which is elevated on the side of the hill adjacent to the roadway

Back track and join the River Road Riverbank pathway which follows the majestic Tuki Tuki River on its way to the sea, also in this area, vineyards, orchards, horticulture and farming. Half way down you cycle through the vineyard at  Askerne Vineyards

On arrival at Black Bridge cross the river via the clip on bridge, then make your way to Kidnappers Coast. Cycling  2.kms through  Grange Creek  Estuary /Wetlands Take time at the end of this pathway to view Napier in the distance, to your right Kidnappers Coast with its spectacular coastal views and white cliffs. Through the village of Haumoana - Coffee at Haumoana Café - re-join the pathway beside the sea on way to the village of Te Awanga, time to explore Elephant Hill Winery,  Clearview Winery & Restaurant, Te Awanga Winery - platters and pizza in a picnic setting, A local Pub Gannet Bar & Grill and Hygge Café, at road end, plus  lots of Art & Craft outlets to explore.

 Please ensure you book the wineries and lunch venue prior to the days cycling – if you don’t do this there is a possibility of being turned away on the day

Included in your package:                                                                               Bike About Tours provides top of the range bikes, most bikes are fitted with gel seat covers, handle bar bags, pannier either side of the back wheel for your wine and other goodies, bike stands, key padlocks for bikes. We supply first aid and puncture repair kits; a detailed map of the Cycle Trail of your choice, helmet or you can bring your own. High visibility vests are not compulsory – we have them in stock if you wish to use one. Transport shuttle where applicable. 

Note: The majority of our Electric bikes don’t have handle bar bags!
