Highlights
A pleasant 2.kms ramble from Bike About Tours base to join the Tutaekuri Riverbank Pathway then onto Awatoto beside the sea. From here you cross 3 bridges all with cycle lanes to the Village of Clive. 2kms down on the pathway beside Clive’s Main Road you join the iWay on your right - this ride takes you past the Clive River - through the small settlement of Whakatu which was the home of the Whakatu Freezing Works, stop of at the Fire Station Café for a cuppa. Sundays only - Hawke's Bay Showground - Farmers Market 8.00am to 12.30pm
Continue cycling to view Hasting hanging Baskets in the inner city shopping centre ( summer only)– a beer at Brave Brewing, Telegraph Hill for olives and oil, at the Strawberry Patch pick a strawberry or two (seasonal) or indulge in an ice cream Explore the Village of Havelock North then a 3 kms ride in the country to Birdwood Gallery, sculpture garden, café, fruit ice creams and old fashioned sweet shop.

Included in your package Bike About Tours provides top of the range bikes, most bikes are fitted with gel seat covers, handle bar bags, panniers for your wine and other goodies, bike stands, key padlocks for bikes. We supply first aid and puncture repair kits; a detailed map of the Cycle Trail of your choice, helmet or you can bring your own. High visibility vests are not compulsory – we have them in stock if you wish to use one. Note: The majority of our Electric bikes don’t have handle bar bags!

Road and Riverbank pathways, i-Way Pathway from Clive to Hastings, (Sundays only visit Hawke’s Bay Farmers Market) Hastings Hanging baskets are a sight to behold during the summer months, Brave Brewery, Telegraph Hill for Olives and Oils and lots more, Strawberry Patch, explore the village of Havelock North, Te Mata Mushrooms, Arataki Honey, #Red Barrel Winery. Black Barn and Te Mata Estate Winery, Origin Earth Cheese makers, and Akarangi Wines
For the experienced cyclists only: Take a detour – hilly terrain 5.2kms return cycle down the hill to Craggy Range Winery – Note – most cycling on the road – very little in way of pathways. The good news is a Cycle Pathway is in the process of being built – will keep you posted when finished…
If you still have heaps of pedal power ( approx 12 to 15kms) then continue your cycle trail via the River Road Pathway overlooking orchards, vineyards and farmlands, cross Black Bridge – turn left ride the riverbank pathway then time to explore the two coastal villages – Haumoana and Te Awanga – wineries in this area – #Beach House Wines, Elephant Hill Winery & Restaurant Clearview Winery & Restaurant, #Te Awanga Estate (formally Kim Crawford Wines), enjoy spectacular coastal views. Cycle through the village of Te Awanga to Wool World and Hygge Cafe at the road end beside the sea. Other points of interest Haumoana Farmyard Zoo and/or the British Car Museum. There are numerous Art & Craft studios in this area.
